The Stage Door will be partnering with MAST Mayflower Studios to support local writers to develop new work.

‘Script in Hand & The Stage Door Theatricals is a new initiative that we hope will support more local writers to develop their work, it will also provide the perfect opportunity for them to be supported by a local director and actors to allow for practical exploration that culminates in receiving valuable feedback from audiences. We are delighted to be partnering with Stage Door on this initiative as we seek to support talent across the city and surrounding areas.’

Script in Hand is a new project aimed at supporting local writers who have a newly written script and would like further support in developing it. This is an exciting collaboration between MAST Mayflower Studios and Stage Door Southampton, whereby writers will be provided two opportunities to explore, develop and present their work with the support of a director and actors.

Scripts are to be newly written or never been performed before, have a maximum of three characters or suitable for multi-rolling and no longer than 60 minutes in length.
