The Stage Door Showtime

The Stage Door will be partnering with award winning musical theatre writers, Amies & Clements, ACJ Productions and Solent University to deliver a series of new musical showcase nights throughout the year.

Amies & Clements are a musical theatre writing partnership who are from Southampton. They are delighted to partner with The Stage Door Southampton for Showtime!

‘We strongly believe that The Stage Door is a vital part of the artistic community in Southampton and we have loved our previous collaborations. We are excited to combine our individual networks to support and develop new British musical theatre writing and performance in Southampton. We believe that this will support upcoming writers and performers in the local area to develop the professional practice of the entire community.’ 

Amies & Clements

Stephanie Jayne Amies and Teddy Clements are a musical theatre writing team based in Southampton, who have been working together for over 10 years. Their previous musicals include:

'The Night The War Ended' (Margate Theatre 2021) commissioned by British Youth Musical Theatre; 'Compass' (2020) commissioned by the Mayflower Theatre for Mayflower 400; and 'Tomorrow, Maybe', an award-winning immersive musical set in a commuters' coffee shop (Edinburgh Fringe 2016). In 2022 they were awarded Arts Council Funding to develop a new musical about community choirs, with acclaimed playwright, Beth Flintoff. This new musical is based on real testimonies from Southampton based community singers.
